Well it’s been a week and there have been more than one occasion when Cowboy and I have
debated over who is in charge, and I had to roll him a couple of times, but we are making progress.
He pretty much has the “paw press” down and is doing it
reliably, and he’s beginning to understand the “sit” hand signal. He’s still thinking about the “down” but with
a little help he does it very quickly and reliably.
We’re still working on not snatching food, and probably will
be for longer than I’d like, but it’s a process of baby steps. I’ll have to find the buster cube and he can eat his supper that way.
Dropped him off at Danette’s office so she could keep an eye
on him while I reported for jury duty. I
wasn’t selected and arrived to pick him up around 11:30. She said he did very well in the crate under
her desk until someone came in and he thought it was me. After that she couldn’t keep him quiet and ended
up putting him in the bigger crate in her truck. We walked to the UC for some hot chocolate
and he did very well on the leash, got to meet some people and saw a bicycle, which
didn’t faze him at all.
Tomorrow he goes to the vet for his first puppy check-up (at
no charge!), and he will be micro-chipped.
